Dr Paramita Bhowmick has done her PhD and M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work, from NIMHANS, Institute of National Importance. She has experience in Couple and Family Therapy for over 20+ years. In this journey, she has learnt that functional and healthy Interpersonal relationships are one of the most important aspects of mental and social well-being in our day-to-day lives.
She feels that healthy communication, perspective taking, empathy, being able to listen to each other and the fulfilled need of having been heard are few of the pillars of any interpersonal relationship. Having gone through different schools of Family and couple therapy, she uses an eclectic approach in therapy.
She focus more on involving the clients in therapeutic processes using role play methods, facilitating communication processes between each other, helping them to take each other’s perspective, how to generate empathy for each other and finally facilitating understanding amongst themselves and living a better and quality life.

How Sessions Work
Sessions are structured, paced, and led with clear direction. Time is used to examine live material from recent interactions rather than retelling history in detail. The focus stays on what is happening now and what needs to shift for progress to occur.
- Focus on interaction patterns, not symptom checklists
- Slows conversations when they loop or escalate
- Tracks responsibility shifts and communication breakdowns
- Works with both joint and individual sessions when required
- Avoids quick advice when deeper dynamics are driving the issue

I had been dealing with anxiety for years but never got help. Talking to Dr. Paramita felt like a relief. She didn’t just listen she understood.
Now I know how to manage my thoughts better, and I feel like I have space to breathe again.
Every little thing used to make me feel overwhelmed. Dr. Paramita taught me how to slow down and deal with things one step at a time.
Now even on bad days, I know what to do.
I had trouble sleeping and constant sadness. Her sessions helped me feel lighter inside. I’m not 100% yet, but I’m finally moving forward. It felt like I had someone on my side. That support meant a lot to me.
She explains things simply and never made me feel like something was “wrong” with me. Therapy with her felt healing. Each session brought a little more peace. I’m truly thankful.
